NASHL2.0 S03 Playoffs Hunt (Ver. 3.6)

Post by STL - Scott » October 24th, 2019, 10:31 am

Everyone has around 12 games left, and the trade deadline has almost passed, as we enter the home
stretch to Season 3.

A “quality team” is one when the team has a winning record, e.g. points are equal or greater than games
played. There are currently 10 quality teams in the NASHL, and the league average is 11.8 games
remaining (GR) with 4.6 games verses quality teams (VQT). Teams marked with a “*” have punched their
ticket into the playoffs.

The Calgary Flames are the first (and only) team to secure a playoff spot, and so far, no franchise has
been eliminated at this time.

In the Eastern Conference, the only movement in the Top 7 had the Pittsburgh Penguins jumping past
the Montreal Canadiens for the #2 spot. The Buffalo Sabres claimed the #8 spot from the Ottawa
Senators, who are just 1 point behind for the playoff berth. Outside of the playoff mix, the Carolina
Hurricanes climbed out of last place in the Conference, that position now held by the New York Rangers.
Three teams are within 7 points of the Sabres for the playoff berth.

In the Western Conference, Calgary remains the top seed for the third consecutive report. There was a
little shuffling among the Top 8, but no one fell from the mix. The Dallas Stars and Phoenix Coyotes
swapped the #2 and #4 spots, with the Stars now on top, and the Toronto Maple Leafs overtook the
Detroit Red Wings for the #7 spot. Four teams are within 7 points of the Red Wings for the playoff
berth.

Good Luck for the remainder of the season!

I enjoy doing these articles, just to see who's moving up/down as the season progresses.

Of course, after last night's games (Thursday), three additional teams punched their post-season ticket. Ink wasn't even dry...…… :D
